You don't need to mess with th belt settings to remove the rear wheel. Take off the nut and drive out the axle. Slide the wheel forward enough to slip off the belt. Don't mess with the swingarm end end tensioning pieces, and the belt setting will stay where you had it. Proper tension is the same as on older american cars 1/4-1/2 inch play in the bottom of the belt when you push it in. Run what looks right. Have someone ride it around the yard, and if it isn't flopping or squealing it is close enough.
